Steve the hedgehog




This is the main character Steve the hedgehog. Well he still doesnt look like hedgehog on the video more like a bear but i will get there eventually. xD the right textures and fur will do a lot of magic. I still need to put a bow on him (which i forgot when i rendered the animation) but that is something i can do quick. After this i will start learning some face rig and hope it turns out good and that i dont need to start doing all of this again. xD
He looks like Steve right?

the final render of dance

So this is the final render of the dance with the subsurf and the fur.
The weightmap sucks on elbows which is fault of the automatic weighmap.
I think i could have avoided that too if i would have bothered myself with it but i didnt. xD
Well i will put more effort on it on the final animation then. :)
Also I dont really like the fingers. xD in this animation i had at least two finger bones on every finger and it didnt turn out to be good idea.. actually really difficult to control. so in next skeleton i make i'm gonna but just one finger bone on everyone and use skale to move the fingers. (so much easier, but found out about that little too late)
anyway other way i'm quite happy with this.

dance bitch dance!

Here it is.
That render is without the subsurf and particles so that the render that was so much quicker.
I'm happy with it. the movements look ok and you can see that he is trying to dance. xD but for the final render i tried to fix few things and stuff like that...
I didnt really push the weightmapping in this project I just went with automatic weightmap so you can see few things that shoudnt be there. xD anyway that is where i used my week of holiday.

Start the dance!

Finally i can start doing the dance. i mean seriously i have had the character and the rigid body ready for a while already but i had to fight a little bit with the bones as they woudnt really like work as good as i would have liked them to.
but anyway it seems i got some kind of temporary good solution here and at least i know what to avoid when doing my animation characters. (and what to do right)
anyway my deadline is on monday with the dance so then it will be ready! i promise! xD

Rigid Body



I got the rigid body done to my character and so far it works fine but i havent yet tried to do any special movements with it. (that is for tomorrow/today later)
I got really frustrated with the project cos i had used yesterday to make the fur and i really want the fur on the animation so when i noticed that when i move the character in a position the fur doesnt move with the body.
I tried to see few tutorials from net but i actually accidentally found the solution (which was really simple), so i'm glad i can still have the fur as part of my plan. :)

Dancing yeti



Ok so as i said i'm now doing my practice project of making some kind of character dancing. So i have been making rough/not so pretty Yeti to do so. I had some silly problems with the fur as it didnt really like me but in the end i got it to look ok. I still have some problems with that there is some fur on the eyes even though i didnt really tell it to go there and i dont know how to get rid of it, but i have a clue what i did wrong there just not gonna let it be for this project.
Anyway now i can start working on the skeleton which is great.

Sorry about taking so long

Yes so. I was supposed to put some character designs here and some presentation, but as we had a meeting with my teachers on Wednesday, I made a deal with my teachers to do some practice animation before starting fully my project. xD
So they think that my project is too big for me to handle, and they wanna me to try it first before planning to do it so that we can see how it will work out with all the time limits and rendering and so one.

So on next week I'm gonna have done some kind of creature moving/dancing around and to show that to my teachers. :)
So I will have to but this project to side for a week to do that. xD Though I will be sending messages about how is that project going. In a way it is also about this project.
